September 2008 Meeting Announcement

Please join us for dinner, conversation and a presentation by Sandra Benz from the Shokawah Casino. Sandra has spent 13 years involved with Safety and Hazmat with agencies of the Federal Government and most recently in Hopland for the casino. Her background includes over 20 years in EMS, Incident Command and Law Enforcement.

Sandra’s program will focus on the MSDS, answering the following:

  1. What is Hazard Communication and why is a standard necessary?
  2. Who is covered?
  3. How can workplace hazards be minimized?
  4. Why is a written hazard communication program necessary? What does it include?
  5. How must chemicals be labeled?
  6. What are Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and why are they needed?
  7. What training is needed to protect workers?
  8. How does labeling affect Trade Secret disclosure?
