Fred Walter: Named by Cal/OSHA Reporter as one of the “Most Influential” people on the Cal/OSHA scene, Mr. Walter has represented employers in California and other states in OSHA compliance matters and “serious & willful misconduct” claims since 1985. He is admitted to practice in all California courts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. Fred leads the firm’s crisis management practice, providing clients with legal advice and representation during and after critical events. His article, “Crisis Management: The Legal Perspective”, was published in the March 2003 edition of Safety Professional. Fred is often invited to talk on topics related to workplace safety for the firm’s clients, public agencies and professional organizations. He is co-author, with his partner, Lisa Prince, of the “Workplace Safety” chapter of the California State Bar publication, Advising California Employers and Employees.
Lisa Prince: As a partner with Walter & Prince LLP, Lisa works with employers, safety directors, risk managers, and human resources administrators on the development of effective, preventive safety programs that answer regulatory mandates. Her litigation practice is now focused on representing employers in defense of OSHA citations, serious and willful misconduct and worker’s compensation discrimination claims.Ms. Prince is a member of the Labor and Employment Sections of the American, California State and Sonoma County Bar Associations, the American Society of Safety Engineers, and the Safety and Health Council of the Associated General Contractors of California (AGC). The firm’s latest edition of the Workplace Safety chapter of the Continuing Legal Education of the Bar publication, “Advising California Employers and Employees”, was published in 2017.
Lisa Baiocchi: Lisa Baiocchi is an associate at Walter & Prince LLP, a Healdsburg, California law firm specializing in OSHA, crisis management, and “serious and willful misconduct” defense. Lisa represents the firm’s clients in all aspects of Cal/OSHA and Fed/OSHA administrative process and defense, as well as “serious and willful misconduct” claims. She has also assisted employers with crisis response, improving and/or updating their safety programs, as well as managing pre- and post-appeal abatement issues before Cal/OSHA.Lisa is a member of the American Bar, California State Bar, and Sonoma County Bar Associations.
Len Welsh: Mr. Welsh, former Chief of Cal/OSHA, is with State Compensation Insurance Fund. He is recognized for his expertise and success in litigation and settlement strategies, as well as his skill in forging cooperative relationships between management and labor organizations. He holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Health Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley.Len has more than 25 years of experience in the practice and administration of occupational safety and health and related environmental law. He was appointed acting Chief in 2003, and was confirmed as Chief by the California Senate in 2008. Following his departure from Cal/OSHA in 2011, he served as Counsel and Acting Chief Counsel to the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations.
